WIP Roundup 5/6

I haven't updated lately, but I've had my hands on quite a few things in the last couple of weeks, but even still, I  feel like I've lost my knitting mojo.  I can't get myself to focus on the projects I'm "supposed" to be knitting.  I'm under massive stress in my professional life, and it's definitely been affecting my personal life.  I have made a lot of knitting plans, including a MKAL I couldn't resist,  with deadlines lately  and I reached a point a couple of weeks ago where the knitting felt more like an obligation than the fun, relaxing hobby it's supposed to be.

so, i picked up my powder wrap instead of working on the projects that were stressing me out.  It's a comforting knit - larger needles,  super soft and squishy, and a fairly simple pattern.  Knitting in worsted (the absolutely delicious Berroco Ultra Alpaca) also has the benefit of a sense of instant gratification. A couple of hours of knitting has a very obvious effect on the size of the project,  which doesn't always feel so true when working on socks or other finer gauge things.

After spending a week on my shawl,  I'm almost done and also managed to get comfortable with the idea of not keeping up with my scheduled projects.

This week,  I got back to the Green Gables sock KAL, and cast on the third pair: Lady Cordelia.
To meet the KAL deadline,  I need to finish these and another pair by the end of the month.  It feels much more doable than it did last week now that these are on the needles. I didn't think I was thrilled about this pattern,  but these are the prettiest cuffs I've ever knit.  I'm looking forward to watching them come together.

I made a New Year's resolution to avoid shawl MKALs for at least six months. Then Knights Who Say Knit was announced and I caved almost immediately.  A Monty Python theme and gorgeous yarn from Miss Babs was just too much to resist.  I cast on and kept up for the first clue before I started to feel overwhelmed.  I'm absolutely in love with the project,  but decided to let it fall to the wayside for a couple of weeks. I'm not going to post a picture right now, but maybe after the MKAL is done so I don't feel like I'm spoiling anything.

After I caved and signed up for the Knights who Say Knit, I signed up for another MKAL as well. I was waiting on one last color of yarn to arrive when I  realized I couldn't possibly handle another project. I'm following along and we'll see if I ever get back to it.

I made a little progress on bf's Wookie Socks. I'm about the put in the waste yarn for the afterthought heel, and I'm absolutely terrified they will turn out too small for him, so I've set them aside for now.

I have some finished object posts to update and hope to see y'all again soon with more regularity.
