FO Alert : Kindred Spirits

  I think this is the fastest I've ever knit a pair of socks.  Kindred Spirits  by Lisa K. Ross Farmer's Daughter Fibers Rocky Mountain Purls in Strawberry Shortcake (196 yds) Northbound Knitting Merino/Nylon Sock in Velvet Underground (78 yds) Cast on: 4/1/21 cast off : 4/5/21   I was not overwhelmed with excitement for this pattern,  but I wanted to fully participate in the KAL . I think my color choices played a large part in the enjoyment I got out of this knit after a fairly reluctant start. I realized last year after several less than impressive color selections for big projects,  that color is definitely not my strength. I've started paying more attention to what works in other people's projects and am feeling much more confident.   I cast on separately and knit past the toe and friendship rings before I moved both socks onto the same cable. Weekly WIP Roundup 4/3

It's been a few weeks since my last WIP update and I'm posting a few days later than planned, but my non-knitting life continues to be incredibly busy and I've missed my knitting time. I keep daydreaming about my WIPs waiting for me at home and casting on new projects.  The ESK Yarnathon 1st Quarter Mosaic KAL wrapped up on Wednesday, and the last few weeks I was feeling a little stressed about the projects I needed to get done. Of course, "need" might be a little dramatic,  but I had grand plans for the quarter that eventually degraded into reasonable plans as March snuck up on me,  and I was determined to finish my three projects.   I did manage to finish all three: Geometrica , Pucker and Impossibly Possible .  I even finished and submitted my projects a few days before the deadline! Those extra days turned this into a cast-on week! The second quarter KAL is socks,  and the amazing Lisa Ross is hosting a sock KAL that started the 1st as well. I d...
